Candice, I loved reading all of this well-written article! I can so relate to everything you wrote. When in high school, I won many ‘essay contests’ and even a couple of scholarships so I knew I enjoyed to write. But through the years was not able to indulge other than putting together well-written reports and emails during my ‘real job’ in various career positions I had. But I know what you’re saying…. that urge that you need to do more, write more, make a difference. My husband thought I was dreaming when I announced I wanted to become a professional blogger. But I forged forward in the ‘unknown world of WordPress’ and here I am, about 8 months in. Thank you for sharing your insights.

Beautiful! I love this article, especially your tip about setting small goals. It’s not easy to believe in yourself when seemingly everyone else doesn’t believe in you, but focusing on the small goals can really help move forward.

I love the advice about listing small, achievable goals that you can accomplish to motivate yourself, AND to remember that nothing will be handed to you. This is both a challenge and and encouragement, because when you accomplish something, you know YOU did it! No matter how small or large you may feel it is – you did it!
A lot of good advice: thanks for sharing!

I love all the quotes! They are so true. We never know how close we are to “making it” when we give up. Hard work and perseverance go a long way!!

This is a great post. I thoroughly believe that your life purpose is manifested in childhood dreams. If you feel it, don’t give up. Very nicely done.

Such a great inspirational post. I have this belief that if it keeps popping up into your mind then there is a reason why, and you should go after it. My grandfather also used to say ‘What ever is meant for you won’t go by you’ and I believe him 100%.

Very inspiring. I really believe our dreams matter, it won’t be easy to achieve but it is important to hold on and hang in there good things are just around the corner. Thanks for sharing this post.

What a relatable piece on so many levels. My fiance and I are both in creative fields following our passions, but it’s damn hard. As a child, I was fed the “follow your dreams” schtick so much, but in reality, dreams are a struggle. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be dreams.
Thanks for sharing! We all need a pick-me-up sometimes. I know I do!
